Dr Rowan Porter

Dr Rowan Porter joined his father at Eye Care Queensland in 2003.

His advanced training is in the diagnosis and management of retinal diseases such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. In addition, he is an experienced cataract surgeon; performing cataract and lid procedures in both the private and public system for more than 25 years.

In London, his Retinal fellowship majored in Age-Related Macular Degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and inherited retinal disease at the leading ophthalmic hospital in Europe, Moorfields Eye Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO); with fellowships in both medical retina (Moorfields, London) and Indigenous health (Dame Ida Mann scholarship, Alice Springs). He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retinal Specialists.
